Have just read this 1955 publication, authored by James Shepley and Clay Blair.
As it was published not long after WW2 and at the time of SAC just before the nuclear missile era it is a very interesting coverage of the politics of the time. Quite a dry read, very factual and populated with the multitude of names of the time including Oppenheimer and Teller. Some interesting twists for those who haven't read anything from this time.

Not to anything with details of the content but there are some copies on US and UK ebay right now and 1 on Amazon UK.
