    Thanks, needless to say an enormous amount of work went into obtaining all the atomic weapon test footage. Even though the US in particular has a specific program to declassify this footage via the Department of Energy, other countries as far as I know have no such program.

    You misunderstood me. Of the countries that conducted atmospheric testing, the US is by far the most open in regards to allowing access to the classified films it produced.

    Oh really think so huh, try calling them and ask for the film. When they hang up on you dont cry. The US doesnt give out anything information unless its 10+ years old.

    The US tested in the atmosphere between 1946 and 1962 so that isnt an issue in the context this site. As I stated before the US is the only country that has a system of declassifying and releasing historically significant footage of this nature under the freedom of information act. No other country does this.

    The US test films that have been declassified and sanitized are available to purchase from the Department of Energy. T
