Nice find and welocme.
I initially thought that this was the 1955 Joe-17 shot. However there appear to be some differences which leads me to believe it may be the second, 6kt test of the RDS9/T5 in 1957 as your date suggests.
The youtube page links to http://atomstrike.ucoz.ru but I did not find the video or any futher information there.
I would be keen to hear the opinions of other forum members. |

Again, hello and welcome. Can you try to find out if the youtube video is the 1955 or the 1957 test firing? |

I think that this test is 10 October 1957.
I read this:
Google translate:
The Commission decided to conduct live firing. It was held on Oct. 10, 1957 at a distance of 10 km with an atomic explosion at a depth of 35 meters. The deviation from the aiming point, as already noted, was 130 meters (precision of optical methods in deep-water blast - up to 20 meters). As a result, sank six ships of the target: two destroyers, two submarines and two minesweepers. Admiral NE Bass Commander reported that members of the submarine S-144 "perfectly fulfilled our goals."

I'm not sure how that data clarifies the identity of the shot.
I noticed that your shot has a mist cloud that obscures the cloud almost completely just after the initial mushroom formation which is not apparent in my clip. Also there are differences on the base surge and the base of the mushroom stem. |

It almost looks like it could be a further distant shot of the 3.5 kt, 1955 test |

Amazing!
The test of the video perhaps is Korall, october 23, 1961 (Chyornaya guba, Novaya Zemlya). Deep 20 m and yield 4,8 kt. The test Korall was a test of tactical nuclear weapons with the purpose of study the effects of the explosion on the naval army. The warhead was launched from a B-130 submarine.
I think that the test isn't the n°48 (october 10, 1957), and the test of 1955 didn't generate this cloud or at least not seen in the videos.
A further distant shot of the test of 1955 (Joe-17), taken of a video which was on youtube (I don't seen it since):
And the test of 1957:
Thanks you very much |

Google translate:
You almost say that our compatriots that this site, as you see is hosting yukoza with all its consequences, and was originally conceived as an archive without the forum and guest book. Its author is (my friend) frankly is not the webmaster, so the site supports only the minimal functionality. Maybe then something will change. Designed to draw it myself, if he succeeded, I can only rejoice.
About torpedo say that the disk imaging, I almost do not, but there are quite a few films in the same capacity and in none of them has even the slightest information about the power of the charge (at the best ballpark figure), much less known names of operations and products.
I have another problem - I can not fill the video on fucking youtube - it is too long to be processed. |
