Saturn V Launch Description: The Saturn V was a multi-stage expendable rocket used by NASA's Apollo and Skylab programs from 1967 until 1973 under the direction of Wernher von Braun. NASA launched 13 Saturn V rockets with no loss of payload. It remains the largest and most powerful launch vehicle ever. The Saturn V's huge size and payload capacity dwarfed all other previous rockets, 110 m high, 10 m in diameter (without fins) with a total mass of over 3000 short tons. It consisted of 3 stages, all of which used liquid oxygen (LOX) as an oxidizer. The first stage used RP-1 for fuel, while the second and third stages used liquid hydrogen (LH2). The upper stages also used small solid-fuelled ullage motors that helped to separate the stages during the launch. Music: Vangelis ft. Stina Nordenstam - 'Ask the Mountains'.
