 Fairey D2
Description: 
The Fairey Delta 2 or FD2 was a British supersonic research aircraft produced by the Fairey Aviation Company for investigation into flight and control at transonic and supersonic speeds. The aircraft was the first to exceed 1000mph, and held the Air Speed Record for over a year. The Delta 2 had a very long tapering nose which obscured forward vision. To compensate, the nose section and cockpit drooped 10°, similar to Concorde. Two aircraft were built: Serial numbers WG774 and WG777.

F7F Tigercat

F-15 Eagle
Description: 
The Boeing F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine air superiority fighter. Developed for the U.S.A.F, it first flew in July 1972, and is one of the most recognized modern fighters. It is expected to remain in service until 2025. Despite originally being envisaged as a pure air superiority aircraft, it proved flexible enough that an all-weather strike derivative, the F-15E Strike Eagle, was later developed, entering service in 1989. English Electric Canberra

The Canberra could fly at a higher altitude than any other bomber through the 1950s and set a world altitude record of 21,430 m in 1957. Douglas X-3 Stiletto
Description: 
The Douglas X-3 Stiletto was a 1950s US experimental jet aircraft with a slender fuselage and a long tapered nose, manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company. Its primary mission was to investigate the design features of an aircraft suitable for sustained supersonic speeds, which included the first use of titanium in major airframe components. It was, however, seriously underpowered for its purpose and could not even exceed Mach 1 in level flight.
